Planned maintenance system

A planned maintenance system (PMS) is a schedule of every recurring maintenance job on a vessel, triggered by calendar date or by running hours, with a record of what was done and when.

What does a planned maintenance system do?

A planned maintenance system lists each job a vessel needs on a repeating basis, such as engine services, generator checks, liferaft servicing and antifouling, and tells you which are due, which are overdue and which are complete. Each job is triggered by a date interval (every 12 months), a running-hours interval (every 250 engine hours), or whichever comes first.

Why does it matter?

Missed maintenance is the most common cause of avoidable breakdowns and warranty disputes. A written record of completed work also supports insurance claims, class and flag surveys, and the resale value of the yacht.

How FleetView OS handles it

FleetView OS keeps the maintenance plan per vessel, puts overdue jobs at the top of the vessel dashboard, and includes what is due in the daily brief.
